Confused Cali. State Senator Kevin de Leon Calls for Mandated Bright Colors on Toy Guns

Now the anti-gun state senator is back in the news again. This is because his bill to mandate that all toy guns, bb guns and Airsoft guns to be painted bright colors to differentiate them from real firearms.
I guess no one has told the senator about the current Duracoat and Cerakote fads and gun owners painting their very real guns every color under the sun (and some newly invented colors).

More “feel good” legislation that in actuality won’t do a damn thing except confuse even more people.

I have a better idea.  How about COPs go back to the old policy of not shooting someone unless fired upon first?  That Rule of Engagement seems to be just fine for soldiers in battle zones, so why not here?

What a douchbag, might as well have a law to paint all knives, bats, gold clubs, anything that can be used as a weapon.

Yeah, I think the red plastic muzzle tip idea works best.  It identifies a replica so LE doesn't react with deadly force to one.

Painting replica guns is stupid unless you make firearm owners limit their guns to "real gun" colors only.

This is another example of how legislators with no clue about real world issues fail to think a solution all the way through.

California has the government they deserve.  I just feel sorry for the gun owners there who have to live with these fools!

I can't believe how many times this guys yried to get thus bill passed.  This was in response to an incident where a juvenile was walking downa public street with an airsoft rifle in his hand.  Deputies drove by him on the street and came back around and ordered him to drop the weapon.  For whatever reason the kid had removed the red tip from his replica and turned towards the deputies - you can guess what happened next.  Lovely logic there senator, lets ban the toy because it's easy to do than address the behavior.
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Looking at the video, one has to wonder if the good Senator has recently spent time in Colorado or Washington.
He makes no Freekin' sense at all!
Do I see a bit of cut'n paste from this guy's stuff in Clayton Hee's "Invisible guns and ammunition " Bill?? :o

It is tragic that an child might get shot for any reason.  Kids will be kids and of course they want the coolest looking toys just like the rest of us.  I've seen pictures of a nerf gun modified to conceal a pump shotgun.  So the criminals want their guns to look like toy and the kids want their toys to look real.  That puts LEO's in a pretty tough predicament.  There should be a push for educating parents and kids on how to avoid dangerous situations instead of  what color toys should be.

De Leon....he's just crazy.
