Best pistol under $1000
« on: June 07, 2011, 01:24:48 AM »
I just finished making a tactical Glock in .40 cal and I got to looking at other tactical guns.

I think the next purchase might be a FNP Tactical 45.

I love the way this gun looks and the fact that it's a 45.

What other choices are out there for a tactical 45, under $1000 that has everything this gun has?
* Threaded barrel
* Ambidextrous safety and controls
* Built in red dot mount ( for different brands of red dot)

Do you really need a threaded barrel? The only thing you can run on it in Hawaii is a compensator.

The FNP-45 does sound like a good choice though. It looks like the going rate is about $5-600 putting it in what seems like the "normal" handgun price range. IMHO, that's the range that I'd stick to. I've also heard good things about FN's pistols.

Threaded barrel?

I don't "need" it, but I just love the way it looks.

The FNP-45 "tactical" is more expensive than the regular FNP-45.

If you find or know of one for $600 bucks, I'll buy it right now.   :D
