Anyone knowlegable on how much old whiskey cost?

Ive got a bottle of old unopened Crown Royal......

Its marked 1969 80 proof Crown Royal........

Since Seagrams sold the brand to Diageo in 2000, the label on the bottle could interest a collector.

You might try eBay and see what others are getting for the same one.  I saw a couple of empty CR bottles actually sold for $20-$25.

This is a common blend.  All the premium blends ($$) came onto the market long after 1969.

Whiskey ages at the warehouses in barrels.  Once it is bottled, it stops aging.  Although over time, the flavor can change inside the bottle slightly, the high alcohol content keeps it from aging the way wine does.

Yeah too bad the aging process stops once it leaves the barrel.  That bottle is in crazy good condition for being 45 years old though!  I can see a collector paying a premium for the bottle although I'm not sure how much.  I think you'll have to go outside of Ebay though, maybe Craigslist, as you can't even sell empty alcohol bottles on Ebay.
