Question on SRGC SR3
« on: May 31, 2014, 12:19:13 PM »
They said it's going to be open on the 8th. Can you only shoot long range or can you bring other types and shoot short range too? I haven't been there yet so any tips on how it works and how to get there? Is there metal targets? How far can you shoot? Are there benches? Can you bring a tent?
Google it cause every question is a dumb question.

KR3, no benches. Use mat. Only have limited space. Target goes from 200 dirt area. 400 metal spinning targets all the way to 1000 meter. Tent area is below shooting area. 308 to 50. If 5.56 ask OIC first. This is a long range only.

Yup big boy range . Before you could set up targets close but not anymore . 308-.50 but no Barrett .416  :(.
Fast is fine , accuracy is final

CR 1 is open on the 7th.
KR 3 is not fully staffed yet. I wish I could RSO but I start annual training that weekend.

I appreciated the SRGC efforts to run a range on SB back in 2011, but I am so great full to have the opportunity to shoot without having to hold my breath for an open shoot with that club.  Great effort by Phil Branch and his crew.  At least Eugene is a member in good standing from what I hear.

I was wondering who did that. We all were looking that way. Wanted to stop by, but busy helping out with the 101 class.
