1917 Colt M1911 - Too Nice Not To Show

Scott Gahimer recently posted this M1911 he purchased from Charles Clawson a few months ago. Both of these guys are very well known in the 1911/1911A1 community, and Clawson's "Big Book" is the 1911/1911A1 collector's "Bible", sort of speak. Scott publicly posted these images himself. This is about as good as it gets when it comes to a M1911!

There is something about real wood and steel that just seems right.
What, Me Worry?

Timeless, like an 84-89 911.

That's an understatement (lol)...more like museum quality, considering it's a 97 year old military Colt and undicked with. Scott didn't say but my guess is he paid at least $15K, and likely more for this one from Charles.

True but the M1911 has a few years on the 84-89 911. Nevertheless both are true classics!

Here is another beauty Scott posted just recently...Swartz safety Colt GM.

Quote
From Scott:

This Swartz safety Colt GM is the pistol featured on pp. 58-59 in Clawson's Colt .45 Government Models 2nd Edition. It was being built about now...in 1940.
