Is there anyone out there that can tell me if I can put a Remington 308 varmint barrel on a Remington 700 sps  30-06. Can't find any info on the internet about it. Can, no can? Thanks in advance. :shaka:

I'm pretty sure all Remington 700 rebarrels require smithing.

The 308 is about ½" shorter than the 06, so you might encounter feeding problems unless you have some sort of spacer in the front of the magazine.

Using .308 adapters in the chamber, I've never had any issue running .308 ammo thru a .30-06 bolt. Seems like that should be a fairly easy conversion

Shouldn't be a problem. The shorter 308 might be a little sloppy in the magazine. You just gotta be surr you pull that long action bolt alllllll the way back before shoving her home.
