Student with "Military-style X" Prompts School Lockdown. Guess what "X" is. (Read 4639 times)

Did you guess "jacket"? I didn't think so. Sure, it's Connecticut, which Brady rates as having the 2nd "best" unconstitutional anti-gun "gun safety" laws in the U.S., but still, a jacket? I hope people vote... including at the school board level, to remove the worst of the worst from making public policy.

Student in Military Jacket Prompts Lockdown at Southington School: Police

http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/Jfk-Middle-School-in-Southington-on-Lockdown-275295201.html

JFK Middle School in Southington was on lockdown Tuesday after a student in a military-style jacket prompted concerns from staff members, who called police to report a suspicious person at the school.

According to police, a student matching the staff member's description was found in a classroom and identified as the person in question.

The student did not pose a threat and, after completing a secondary search, police gave the all clear. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 1 p.m.

That there are people this stupid in charge of educating our children scares me far more than the possibility of another mass shooting.

So much for the first amendment.

So a student wearing a mil jacket raises alarms but an ex-drug dealer can wear a SEAL trident and various other uniforms without earning them?

Yeah, had that been in effect in 1967 the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" album cover would have been illegal (not that I can imagine any military using those uniforms...)... of course probably so would have been using the word "sergeant". I just wonder if the parents of students in these schools with the extreme ("zero tolerance") rules ("Chapstick" was banned in one school district a month or so ago as being a "drug"...) ever go to a school board meeting and ask questions, or demand answers. What kind of an answer could they get? "Think of it from the perspective of today's indoctrinated college-educated teachers: anything resembling anything to do with the military or firearms is evil, therefore: call the cops." Turning all this around is going to be like turning a super-tanker wherein the captain is ordering to stay on course for the iceberg.
