This past weekend I was fortunate enough to go the HDF mini Carbine class. My previous experience is shooting an AR15 only a few times so basically, I am not as familiar with carbines (I only own a pistol and shotgun). That being said, the team at HDF is extremely experienced and very professional. Actually the entire staff (from instructors to support) were great!
Although the majority of our class was men, I did take the class with a few other women. Despite the male to female ratio the group was welcoming and easy to approach, I really felt very comfortable. We received individual 1:1 instruction, despite the fact that it is a group class and the feedback each of us received was great. Their banter was comical and light while still emphasizing the severity of our actions and the seriousness that comes with firearms.
It doesn't matter if you are a first time shooter or experience shooter, you will learn something new and work with great instructors. I highly recommend HDF classes for both beginner and experienced shooters. Their number one priority here is to teach people to SAFELY execute the skills they learn in their class.
The free shoot after was a bonus! We were able to practice what we learned on the ARs and also get time into to shoot the other guns we brought with us. I have a good old pump shotgun that I do not get to shoot at an outdoor range very often, so this was a treat for me! Not too mention being able to try fellow shooter's firearms.
I couldn't wait to tell friends about my great experience and now the end of the month can’t come fast enough! I hope I am able to get in to future classes and one day qualify for the advanced classes. Mahalo again to the HDF crew, you guys are great!
