Shotgun blanks on my property

Is it legal to shoot shotgun blanks on my property? Besides the noise disturbance, is there anything that I can get in trouble for?

If an officer (SWAT Team?) responds to a "shots fired" report at your home, I think the question of what's legal and not legal is a side discussion.

You are  discharging a firearm, albeit with blanks.  You could be cited for the noise, terroristic threatening, or any number of other disturbing the peace laws.

That is, if HPD doesn't shoot you first!  With your hearing protection on (blanks are loud, too), you might not hear the orders to drop the shotgun.

If you have a real need to do this, contact HPD and make sure they are  aware of it ahead of time.
