Only works for PD officers and other LEO. They are special, their lives are worth more than yours.

If it was a common citizen with a LEGAL CCW both parties would be arrested and charged accordingly.

Trust me on this one. The proper way is to call 911.

advice from former HPD chief Donahue: http://khon2.com/2015/04/25/former-hpd-chief-explains-what-you-should-do-during-a-road-rage-incident/

Chief Donahue says the best thing you can do is to make sure you’re secured in your vehicle. If possible, drive to a safe place and call police. It’s also helpful to make a mental note of the person’s description and license plate number.
“If you can’t get away, you have to try and stay in your car and try and stay secure as best as you can and call 911 and say you need help right away. ‘Cause you don’t know if they’re gonna try to break into your car to get to you,” said Donahue.
Chief Donahue says you can also try to capture video of the incident by using your cell phone. But keep in mind that if you are behind the wheel, you are subject to getting a citation.

This is Joebidenesque advice.
Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
