Man Charged in Hospital Shooting Commits Suicide
« on: December 14, 2009, 10:09:19 AM »
Wow, if you heard about the story of the man who shot his wife with a shotgun round from a flare gun, there is an update. That man committed suicide.
This is such a sad story that probably involved some kind of mental illness.

But this story brings up another point, aren't flare guns not usually able to take the stress of a shotgun shell being fired inside of it?

HONOLULU —  Honolulu police say a man accused of trying to fatally shoot his terminally ill wife in her hospital bed has apparently committed suicide by hanging himself.

Officials say 71-year-old Robert Yagi was found dead Sunday in his Kailua home.

Yagi was free on bail after being charged last week with second-degree attempted murder in the Tuesday night shooting at Castle Medical Center.

Court documents say Yagi may have wanted to end the life of 71-year-old Leatrice Yagi because she's suffering from a terminal illness.

Officer Kaimi Kellett says in an affidavit that he believed Yagi planned to commit suicide after killing his wife.

Leatrice Yagi suffered only minor injuries when she was wounded with a shotgun round fired from a flare gun.
