OPM letter about breach
« on: December 07, 2015, 12:56:26 PM »
Anybody else get a letter from the US office of Personnel Management regarding having their personal information stolen during the recent hack against the US Government earlier this year? Specifically those that are vulnerable are individuals that were part of a background investigation. It even extends to dependent children. Spouses may too be victims if their information was part of the background investigation.

The only real background investigations that I have been part of are for permit to acquire. This really sucks. The government is giving those affected and their dependent children identity theft insurance and restorative services for a period of three years. What happens after that?!?!?!?!

You guys get one of these letters?

Yes, June time frame.  Pretty much anyone Federal, Military, clearances, contractors, you name it.  They were offering free identity protection enrollment back then also.  Not sure the latest info on that.
