Man arrested for allegedly shooting gun in Wahiawa?
« on: October 28, 2011, 07:23:39 AM »
This is a very very very vague report from the Star Advertiser. No one hurt and no mention of what type of gun or if it was on private property.

Was he one of the rare armed guards here in Hawaii? You know, the only ones HPD thinks are OK to open carry??

Okay, the story has been updated with A LOT more information and HiCarry has posted it in the crime log.

Security guard allegedly gets into an argument with two other people, follows them home and starts shooting at them (and two additional people nearby) and is being held on charges of attempted murder.

Naturally, this will be held up as a prime example of why Hawaii shouldn't issue permits, in spite of the fact that it actually proves the opposite.  People can and do get guns in Hawaii, and sometimes they use them to try to murder their fellow citizens.  Therefore, the citizens' right to be armed for defense must be restored.

and supposedly it was a neighbor, at home with a shotgun, who chased the assailant away.

I hadn't heard that.  Do you have a verified source for that?  Not asking to be a dick, but it would make a good article for hawaiiccw.com.

it was bottom of page B1 of Saturdays printed version of Staradvertiser.

Further down on the second-floor of the two-story walkup, Antonino Fajardo, 59, said he believes he helped scare off the guard.

Fajardo stepped out the screen door and cocked his shotgun to get the gunman's attention, who was about 30 feet away, and the man began walking away.

"If he point his gun my place, I'm going to shoot his hand," Fajardo said. "I scared him, so nobody hurt."

Isn't it amazing all the hype given this story, yet any intervention by a law-abiding citizen with a gun is minimized??

[Rhetorical question, just in case you're wondering...]

Psh, I'm shocked that he wasn't arrested for "terroristic actions."  ::)

This is Wahiawa we are talking about, and surprised Antonino Fajardo didn't get arrested for displaying a firearm outside of his house. Unless of course he is one of the golden I-drop-names-from-cops-I-know guys to get out of it.... ::)
