Yeah, capitulating to their intentionally deceptive and misleading misnomers doesn't help, but at least he got a couple of rational statements about firearms on a mainstream media news broadcast.

Cringed when he said that.  You just had a so called "gun expert" concur that they are assault weapons/ rifles and other than standard capacity mags. No matter how you want to look at it that was a big error that was televised.

I overlooked that comment about assault rifles and high cap mags.
But in contrast to other media articles lately it was a bit refreshing

Yeah I too had to cringe with use of "assault rifle" and "high capacity" magazines, considering that he himself schooled me on that 10+ years ago when I first moved to Hawaii and didn't know any better about the terminology. Last thing we need is some local legislator trying to push through an AWB and using a local gun dealer's televised words as evidence. I'm sure it was an accident on his part and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but if there is on thing the media has made abundantly clear - they are anti-gun and WILL find a way, any way, to make us look bad. Just look at Katie Couric for a recent example...
