We do it all the time.  FBI NICS Background checks have a 3 day limit for a response, but Hawaii requires you to wait not 3 days, but 14.  Is that not delaying your rights?  In that amount of time, the request can be denied pending a more thorough investigation NOT for being Gay, but for being in a group identified as higher risk for mental health issues.  The LGBTQ group would not be the only ones in that "extra scrutiny" category.  They can cry discrimination as usual, but it won't change the truth.  Certain groups should be allowed their rights once their INDIVIDUAL risk is evaluated.  I believe that should also include nonviolent felons.  Some of them are more in need of self defense due to the limited choices they have on where they live.

To avoid a little extra scrutiny because you feel discriminated against will not help solve the mental health issues as they relate to firearm ownership.

You keep saying "denying".  What is it about you that refuses to read the words on your screen?  I'm not typing it a third time, Troll Man!!

I keep saying denying because thats what it is. Not permanent but you are suggesting we subject individuals to extra scrutiny based on their being in a particular class of people that results in them not getting to practice their rights as soon as others. For that extra period of time, a person is having their rights delayed. Blacks commit more crimes, can the justice system treat them different? Women have more accidents, can we require they have different license requirements? The logic at the core of your argument is unconstitutional. Felons is a little bit different, that is something that happened by an individuals choice of actions, not by being born a certain race, sex, etc.

People in Hawaii have to wait longer because of Hawaii law. The feds don't prescribe different waiting periods for different states.

You'd argue with a brick wall if you thought the words a tagger wrote were wrong!

Way to avoid how I just proved you wrong.

Your willingness to deny (delay) people gun rights because they are gay worries me. You logic can be used to pretty much further delay any individual from purchasing a gun. Are ou white? More likely to be a serial killer. Are you a man? more likely to be a rapist. Are you black? More likely to commit murder. Etc etc etc.

You have to justify actions based on facts specific to an individual, not based on their membership of a certain class of people.

Yeah, keep attacking.  You have nothing new to say, so you just blah, blah, blah the same point over and over.  No matter how many times you repeat a weak argument, it's not going to get any stronger!

For some reason, you think you're right more than anyone else on this forum.  You refuse to concede any conclusions EVEN WHEN YOUR "FACTS" ARE PROVEN WRONG!

I'm not going to repeat my point (for the third time I'm not!).  Somehow, you haven't figured out you're not going to get me to.

take your Liberal whiny argument and post is somewhere else.  We're tired of re-reading it over and over and over...

All lawful Americans should have the right to armed self defense for themselves and their loved ones, as provided by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.  :closed:
