Wake up Hawaii
« on: September 06, 2016, 04:11:13 PM »
Just returned from a trip back to the "Motherland"  Wisconsin, with 100 lbs of cheese, sausage and venison.

FYI, Wisconsin is the home of
Milwaukee  County sheriff  David A. Clarke Jr.
(Clarke was featured on a series of public radio ads that said citizens could no longer rely on the police for timely protection and should arm themselves. Milwaukee is a CCW county.)

and Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn author of  "Four Simple Rules to Not Get Shot in Milwaukee."
1.   Don't be part of a crime gang.
2.   Don't be a drug dealer.
3.   Don't carry an illegal gun.
4.   If you're in an argument with a stranger, ask how often they've been arrested. If they've been arrested more often than you've been arrested, concede the point.  :shake: :shake: :shake:

Stayed with Sis  in Waukesha on their large home and property where seeing white tail deer, turkey and pheasant from the kitchen each morning was the norm.
Nice trip seeing family and all but some of the best stuff was of course, firearm related.

One day our nephew in law took us to 800 acre Wern Valley Sportsmans club, a mere  five minutes away from the house.  :worship:
http://wernvalley.com/

    OMG !
The skeet course was like a miniature golf course for shotguns !
50 rnds for 13  holes (stations) with 2-4 radio controlled clay throwers each.

Wern Valley is  also a game farm and raises pheasant  so you can call in an order and hunt
(Hey Bubba, dis here's Skeeter. Can you throw 10 ringnecks on to field 9 for me ?)
If they fly over the fence to another plot or you don't get them all, their left  to roam free !
No hunting license is required to hunt pheasant on this private game farm!
Deer hunting is also allowed here when in season (tag required).

They also have 6 good sized fish ponds which they stock.
Anybody care to invest with me in a Hawaii Sportsmans club ?  ;D

Waukesha County Technical college has a state of the art firing range.
https://www.wctc.edu/business-and-community/firing-range/index.php
"The indoor firing range will provide law enforcement with the venue they need to ensure their training is at the highest level possible and provide the general public an opportunity to take CCW, safety and protection classes as well as a place to do target practice."

Past and present local police officers offer private NRA Basic Pistol courses as well as CCW here.
And get this, Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Firearms Training Unit regularly offers concealed carry weapon (CCW) classes

If I could only talk Rockette  to moving but she has "acclimated" to Hawaii weather and won't move back to those Mid-west winters. :'(

Nice!  Sounds like you should have a summer place up there!

It's amazing how much open land is available in certain parts of the US!  I visited my aunt in VA a couple of weeks ago.  She lives in a rural part of VA that is only about 30 minutes from DC.  So this area is popular with the wealthy folks who want to work in DC/MD/VA and still have the country life.  Anyways, she has 10 acres of property with her, four horses, a tenant on the barn house and a bunch of cats and a dog.  She even has a deer stand on her property and doesn't hunt.  I saw what I thought was two smaller does running across her property as she gave me a tour.  Her friends were talking about buying 22 lr to take care of some critters, I think either a woodchuck or something.  I wish I had more time to "help" them.   ;D
