Aloha all I am considering purchasing a Swiss Rifle I am trying to decide which one and where from. I am looking at Classic Firearms right now and the inventory changes daily. I will list some questions below if you can help feel free to reply.

Q1) Are there any Swiss rifle fans/gurus here? besides swissk31...

Q2) There are a few Swiss Rifles that fire the GP11 cartridge, S-R 1896/11 Rifle, Mod. 1911 Rifle, Mod. 1911 Carbine (K11) and Mod. 1931 Carbine (K31) can any one elaborate on the pros and cons of each? I am thinking of the Mod. 1911 Rifle because the K31's are hardly in stock.

Q3) What other vendors are there besides Classic that have Swiss Rifles in stock? I have searched and found other vendors online but maybe I missed one, let me know where else I can find them and if you've ordered from the vendor how satisfied were you?

Q4) Does anyone here have a Swiss Rifle that they would like to sell? PM me I am just feeling it out before I put a WTB ad in the classifieds.

If you have any other pertinent information or can add to things I did not specifically ask about above that would be most appreciated.

Q2) Plenty of K31s if you wait just a little while. Dunno the dif between the various refiles except that accuracy tends to be better in the Mod 1911 over their shorter carbine counterparts. Bolt lengths have also been shortened supposedly making the shorter ones stronger;

I will add that the K31 is probably the best of all the straight pull Swiss rifles. Only because it is the most modern meaning potentially stronger action, possible less use and best accuracy. Though all the Swiss variants are well known for their accuracy. Just my opinion. If I had the $ and the room in my safe I would collect all the different variants. One other thing I can say is that my handloading did not add much in the way of accuracy over the factory/military ammo. I load a reduced load and use a lead bullet to cut down on wear and tear since I shoot mine a lot. The straight pull bolt is easy to use and it throws cases a good distance.

I just happen to be bringing mine to the range tomorrow morning if you want to shoot it just drop by.

oh?  i've been pining after a K31 for a while now.  always wondered about how it shot.

Will do and maybe I'll bring some of my other oldies to. It will be awaiting my return in Pauoa probably with some others. I have an order for a M1 Garand at the CMP awaiting processing currently.
