Out of state LTC
« on: January 06, 2017, 04:50:16 AM »
So I have been in Hawaii for almost 3 years due to the military. I recently got my ltc in my home state of Massachusetts, my question is will Hawaii honor the fact i have a ltc in a different state to allow me to buy a weapon here or do I have to go through Hawaii's crazy process to obtain a permit to buy a weapon here in Hawaii? Is it really worth the hassle if I'm leaving Hawaii in less than 6 months too?

you have to go through the process to buy here
you can bring in your firearms from out of state, but you will have to register them and you will be placed in the rapback program
likely not worth the hassle if you are leaving in less than 6 months, but that is your decision

Thanks I appreciate it that's kinda what I assumed by reading everything online but wasn't 100% sure. Yeah I'm probably not going to buy here, not worth the hassle to me.

Lucky you live Hawaii... temporarily. In your future travels be sure to let people know the status of the Second Amendment-guaranteed rights here in Hawaii. Best wishes, and thanks for your service.  :shaka:
