London808 this is a great idea!
Let's play...
On 2pm on Wednesday I am sitting at my office job in an air conditioned 7 story building in downtown. My life is about to change and civilization is about t be tested...
I get the NASA message, if I truly believe it was not a hoax and that electronic devices would be knocked out in catastrophic proportions, I would text my immediate family.
I finish work at 4:30pm, I would go to Home Depot and buy a bunch of stuff including fuel containers, water holders, ice chests, saws, tarps, BATTERIES, a generator, firewood, candles, flashlights other immediately useful items.
Stop by Chevron and Safeway to fill up gas and stock up on canned food, beans, rice, and ICE.
I get home unload everything.
Tomorrow morning I'll call in sick and be going to the bank to withdraw my money whilst leaving the minimum balance so as to not raise any red flags.
I would also buy anything else I would need, Costco to stock canned food and liquor, and Diamond Head Ice to get cheap 20 pound bags for like $4.
I have 7 chickens so I can feed them scraps for fresh eggs and breed them for more chickens.
I get to building a basic rocket stove with cinder blocks.
The rest of the night I would be enforcing my home, constructing wooden barriers to block entrance to my home, using my tools as much as possible to build things while we still have electricity.
At some point I would tend to my weapons and load magazines as needed, there aren't that many and realistically I don't think I would need my guns immediately.
It's 12pm the next day, I haven't slept all night but I'm finished building my last barrier. I take a shower and probably pass out for an hour before the flare hits.....
It's 2pm, the flare hits.....
