So I sent off one of my cz 82's to mac's shootin irons for a "tuff-gun" refinish.
http://www.shootiniron.com/I removed the firing pin, firing pin retainer plate, recoil spring and grips so the gun would be inoperable.
I picked the following for $90 bucks
MAC'S "BASIC TUFF-GUN JOB" INCLUDES FULL DIS/REASSEMBLY AND THE SAME
DETAILS AS THE "STANDARD" EXCEPT ONLY THE MAJOR EXTERIOR PARTS
RECEIVE THE TUFF-GUN FINISH.
I picked the Mil Park Green finish and was a little worried that it would be too green. I got it back today and am very satisfied. The Mil Park Green finish is awesome! Its almost like a dark gun metal grey with a hint of green to it. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking of sending in my vector under-folder for the same finish.
Turnaround was a little over 3 weeks.
So far I have sent guns to Mac's and Accurate plating and weaponry (
http://www.apwcogan.com/)
I had APW do a blued S&W K frame in black chrome and bead blast a stainless K frame. Both came back very nice. The black chrome K frame was incredible.
I went with Mac's this time because they are much cheaper than APW, and it was on a $200 gun.
The finish is actually a bit darker than the pics, but you get the idea.

Compared to original painted black finish. Yes, I know I need new grips........

Time will tell if their finish holds up, but it looks like it is very well done and appears to be a excellent finish option for a "working gun".
Hope this helps anyone looking to refinish one of their toys.
