Gunsmith in Honolulu
« on: April 27, 2017, 10:33:18 AM »
Hey guys anyone know of a gunsmith on the island?

Im here on an extended stay with family and decided I would bring my AR along. The problem is, I need to do a simple free float hand guard install but don't have the right tools to un-torque and re-torque everything (vice, action block, ect) and don't want to buy them here. I have tried to un-torque everything but the factory barrel nut is on way too tight for a free hand install.

If anyone has recommendations to a gunsmith or shop that can help please post and let me know.
Alternatively if anyone has the tools and knowledge I would gladly pay for what I need done.

Thank you!

Rolled by there and seems like a car repair shop. Tried giving them a call a got no answer.

Do you know if they are still at that address?

Gotta call him and set up time to meet. I've always met him after "regular" business hours. I haven't been in a while, but think he's still doing gunsmith work.

Exactly what I was gonna suggest.
Be aware there might be a $30 membership fee on top of the labor charges but then you can check out their indoor range if you want.

2023 Republican St is mainly the address for Sako Electric.  RookWorx, Red Letter Industries and apparently the gunsmith all use that address for their business.  None of the three had signs outside that I could see.
