I gotta wonder what their motivation was for that house and those ladies... (Read 5520 times)

Stupid to let them in just because they said they were cops.

Perhaps they know the home owners.

generally, home invasions take place in a place where the criminals believe there are things worth taking
this usually means the targets are often places where illegal activity is taking place
but the bad guys sometimes hit the wrong location...

I saw that story.

Things that make you go ...huh?

Could be. Either they hit the wrong house or the ladies are secret drug pushers (unlikely with a cop living nearby).

Another reason that I am looking into putting a gun box somewhere near my door.

The guy that got caught is a felon who has been convicted of firearms violations in the past. (prohibited person, place to keep, place to keep ammunition). Not sure if he was the one with the gun in this crime, but if not mistaken he can't even be around/near firearms.

I guess our gun laws are working pretty good.  Wonder which gun store they got their gun from and if they're in RapBack.

"Police later recovered a loaded 22-caliber rifle and a large hunting knife, which Roberts says he saw the men drop in their attempt to run away."

Between that and the car they left behind, they might as well have dropped a wallet with ID.

Mr Ayoobi recommends carrying a firearm on your person at all times when inside your home, except when you are bathing or sleeping.  Even then a gun should be in arms length.  I did that the first 2 years after I moved to Puna, but in that time I worked on making the perimeter much more secure and no longer carry on my person most of the time.  A firearm is always close by, loaded and ready to go within 50 ft when I am outside and within 20 ft when I am inside.   A gun is within arm's length when I am in bed.
