Citizen live testimony re city council gun show ban

I'm glad to see that someone other than myself gets a little "enthusiastic" when addressing the petty tyrants politicians who rule over us as if we were their subjects and rather than their employers.

I'm glad this guy is on our team.

Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined. --Patrick Henry

Mr. Mark Robinson makes us Hawaii 2A community look like timid sheep, how we are bullied about by our legislators (e.g. 47 minutes notice).  But even if he were delivering testimony to our "esteemed & honorable" Hawaii legislators, after he's finished speaking, they'd still unanimously approve whatever 2A-infringing piece they were pushing, with no qualms, as usual.

We've been numbed into submission, yielding some infringement ("insurance policy") every legislative session, year in, year out.

It would be a privilege to address Mr. Mark Robinson of Greensboro NC as Honorable.

I listened to several interviews with Mr. Robinson. He was on NRA Cam and Company a couple of days after his comments to the city council. One part of the conversation had Cam mentioning that another town (Boulder, CO) had a meeting on banning "assault weapons" and mags over 10 rounds the previous evening and they had to open two extra rooms for the overflow crowd and the testimony was 2 to 1 AGAINST the bans... but the council PASSED THE BILL UNANIMOUSLY (sound familiar?) and you could hear Mr. Robinson groan in disgust. Cam commented that there's nothing we can do about those particular decisions, but we can do something at the next election re the politicians who made those decisions in the face of overwhelming opposing testimony. Except here in Hawaii it's all sewn up. I wish it weren't. I wish we had a chance at the ballot box. But we don't. I'll still campaign for people and vote, but "realistically"... perhaps some non-total-squish-RINO could take a seat here or there, but when it's 100% and 90% (senate and house Dem majorities) you're fighting... it's hopeless, but you gotta start somewhere. Or you could just give up and be all "whatevahs". If the Dems succeed in leading Hawaii to some serious near bankruptcy economic condition, some more serious political percentage changes could be a possibility as the hands-out masses could change... but they'd probably want Stalinists rather than Marxists, not anyone defending rights and liberty.

There is a growing sense of discontent among Hawaii's citizens. Horse race politics has us focused on the near term wins but we have to learn to play the long game. Democracy is not a spectator sport and building coalitions with grassroots movements will always yield better results than simply begging for politicians to throw us a bone in exchange for our support. You may not be around to see the changes that your work inspires but future generations will be very grateful to have your shoulders to step on instead of having to learn the lessons the hard way.

and at the rate we're going, future generations will be grateful that they still have bolt-action 22LR long guns, and revolvers to shoot, since everything else was surrendered through the years as "insurance policy" to keep those.
