2018 primary election
« on: August 11, 2018, 07:30:57 PM »
My man Sam kong is in the lead for Aiea by quite a bit.

Hanabusa trailing Ige by a decent amount.  Kinda reminds me of the Trump Clinton election where Hanabusa thought she was a guaranteed win.

2nd tally is in.  Same results.  https://elections.hawaii.gov/election-results/

Just noticed Ito is losing in the Senate.  I think he's the top 2a supporter behind the retired Sam Slom.  This plus we're losing Tupola in the legislature.  Not sure if we're on track to gain 2a other allies.

On the plus side, we got rid of Kaniela Ing.

So losing 2 2a supporters in the legislature, and I doubt there will be any republican gains in the General election in November.  Only thing we can hope for is Tupola has a long shot at winning the Governor or at least Ige could possibly veto any extreme gun control bills.

Should have some major bills in the 2019 legislature like open carry permit restrictions, stun gun permitting, and a small posibility of Hawaii copying California's microstamping law since it won their first court case or assault weapon ban.

ed case beat a guy who had a huge lead in the polls even though he entered late
he also had zero grassroots support as far as I could see
only in the past week did he have more signwavers than just himself
I think he had 4 other people holding signs for him late in the week
I see a glimmer of hope that people realized that doug chin's lawsuits against the travel ban were just a political grandstanding move

I hope Hanabusa retires and doesnt run again.  I think Ito will try get his house seat back next time.  Ing is probably out of politics and have to live in the real world now.  I bet Chin will run again, maybe for mayor.

Hanabusa conceding the race in a speech shortly before 10:30 p.m. She said she is “not sure that I’ll run for any kind of political office again.”

With 44% D voting against Ige, and a majority R for Tupola, I can imagine an upset victory for Andria.
She did a great live interview from the Kahuku-Punahou ball game last night.

She's 67.

She served more than the five-year minimum in the US Congress, so she's eligible for retirement benefits.

With 8 years (not sure if she'll have had 7 or 8 yrs as of retirement), she should see about $24K/year for life. She'll also get about $30K-50K from Social Security, depending on her earnings before Congress.

On top of that is anything she earns after Congress (speaking fees, advisory boards, etc), plus her retirement savings.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I dunno.  Ige got 124k votes to Tupolas 17k.  Doesbt represent much but I wonder if there will be a lack of republican voters participating in the general election.

I am sure some of those Ige votes were R's voting to keep Hanabara out. Now id like to see how many feminazi leftists will vote R just to spite the toxic man that STOLE the primary from the witch. Hehe
