Spiked Tabis - any Oahu shops have them?
« on: April 03, 2020, 11:09:39 PM »
Found Fukuda Seed has them....hope they have size 10.5

I read spiked tabis are good for muddy areas.

Any local shops stock them?

I have pretty good waterproof hiking boots from work but I think they will weigh 15 lbs each on a muddy day.

Amazon has spiked tabis but the sizing is off, the shoes are over sized

I have non spiked fishing tabis (rubber bottom, not felt).  Anyone use these for hunting?

Fukuda seed store is the only place on Oahu that has quality spiked tabis that I know of, like the Daido brand (green and yellow). I was able to purchase one before all this happened. Maybe stores on the BI might have as well? The lady was very helpful and had a pretty good stock. The only thing is you gotta convert your size 10.5 to cm, like 26 or 27, something like that.

I have a couple buddy's that use the spiked ones for hunting so they don't slip on the rocks and branches and stuff.....

I bought my pair from Brian’s fishing in town. I’ve used them for hunting they are awesome. Hard on the feet though and make sure you get a size that will accommodate wearing socks. You do not want to walk around without socks for hours you will get unreal blisters.

I was watching some videos made by scuba Chris about fukuda seed.  There is a laced up boot with spikes that looks interesting.

I don’t think the other pull on or Velcro  tabis will give enough support.....I don’t want to roll my ankle.  I’m too old
