So sad  :(  One of my go to breakfast places on my days off. Also after many nights of drinking. Always some familiar faces with people that worked there for decades.

Been trying to support the various eateries that I used to go before all this. They are all hurting. Hope many make it through, but I’m guessing 50/50.

You know the Hawaii Democrat party(Ige) just extended mandatory home imprisonment
to May 31?

For real?  :(

Haha. I knew. It is what it is. I envision businesses opening up more before end of May. Would’ve been tough to impossible for a place like Likelike Drive Inn though.

I knew the original owners personally.  They used to invite me and my family to dinner there about 4 or 5 times a year.  In the 1980s I was their lawn service provider for them and the daughter that took over when they passed away.  Now that daughter's daughter is the current owner and the restaurant was one of my tree service accounts.  They will be fine.  They own outright the land that the restaurant and the entire complex of small businesses around it is on.  The Pagoda Hotel has been bugging them for years to sell.  That property is worth tens of millions.  Less headache to sell and enjoy the money.

While part of me really feels for all these businesses, if these people are voting D or not voting at all, they deserve EVERYTHING that results.

14 deaths and we shut the state down for 60 days.

State officials don’t try to diversify and only rely on tourism for decades. Now that they’ve shot that golden goose in the head, they are nuking the remains.  We have that one Tesla level genius floating the idea of ankle monitors for incoming tourists.

Anyone try to fly in lately?

Even if you’re flight crew, which if so you are exempt from quarantine orders, you are met by HPD, state workers, and the national guard. They BARK at you to look left and head against the wall to take your temperature. Half of these morons don’t even know the rules and ask where you will be quarantining, despite the fact you are exempt if part of the flight crew.

These idiots destroyed the state, and they are leaving an extremely sour taste for the precious few who are coming in, or are still working.

Recovery?  With Kermit at the helm who can barely string a pair of sentences together?  Riiiiiiiight.

As the years go by, I see less people living here full time, the state taxing who’s left even more to try and make up for lost revenue, not realizing its them that are driving everyone out.

The HTA and all those other "agencies" (i.e. golden parachute orgs) should fire themselves. With all these authoritarian measures for tourists who wants to come back to the "Aloha" State? Tourists aren't to blame for the infections - it was returning residents.

This, but yet no one complains. I had 20friends on fb go on vacay during feb-march. Luckily, no one was sick.
