I feel for our fellow enthusiasts in New York. These suggestions are scary. Let's hope none of this crap gets introduced here.

In a nutshell:

1. Make pre-ban magazines illegal. (Currently you can have 10+ mags if made prior to 1994).
2. Reduce magazine round limit from the current 10 to 7.
3. Allow law enforcement to confiscate firearms on New Yorkers considered to be mentally unstable.
4. Require all gun licenses in the state to be renewed every few years. (I believe you need a license to own a handgun in NY)
5. End private sales without background checks.
6. Enhance punishment for firearm related offenses.
7. End ammunition purchases via the Internet (read this on ARFCOM, but haven't seen this stated in any news articles)
8. Require NICS checks for all ammunition purchases (also read this on ARFCOM, not sure if true)

That's the problem with the country overall, too.  Look at a map of the election by county--you'd think Romney won by 70 points, but all the population is concentrated in urban pits of misery and desperately want a messiah to lift them out of their hovels. 

Hows does this affect criminals?

#6 should be the start of a new list, make that #1 and come up with laws that make gun ownership easier in NY

Read Rose Koire's book, UN Agenda 21: Behind The Green Mask. It details our government's plans to incrementally transform our society into a more authoritarian/totalitarian model. It will begin with concentrating the populations into urban centers and confiscating guns. If you've ever read Orwell or Huxley, then you've seen these scenarios played out. The re-election the Chicago fuckface is proof, in my opinion, that this country has hit a tipping point, and there are more people willing to sacrifice individual freedom and liberties for handouts.

The minute we cease to be a Constitutional Republic and become a Democracy - which is either here or around the corner - is the day we have mob rule and tyranny. Mark my words.
