That was great!  I just wish these action matches were around when I was nubile 'n nimble.
I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

Nice.

I've never did this kind of comp, looks fun and challenging. Liked the slip in the mud.
Safety on, finger off the trigger, muzzle stayed downrange. No one freaked out. Awesome.

I miss the range in Glenwood.  :'(  When I return to the BI I hope the Glenwood range and the North Kona range will be open.

It happened pretty quick, but his muzzle looked to stay downrange and not go too high.  I thought he maintained good control of his gun through that fall.  Looked like it was storming out there for a little while and the ground got pretty sloppy.

We aren't allowed to shoot steel for our rifle side matches.  I would love to run that rifle course.  Seems like you guys were killing that Texas star!  It's also good that you guys are allowed to do things like transition to pistol and stuff following the matches.  That would never be allowed for that matches that I've been to.  Good stuff!

Youth is wasted on the young.

FWIW, the guy who won is well past 50.

As the day went on, it got pretty wet and slippery.  In a constant downpour (which we haven't had for a while), red dots and optics can get so much water on the lenses that they're useless.  Something to think about.....

Ah yes, the good ole mauka showers in the Mt View / Puna area.  Benny and his buddy Isaiah sent me this video and those two fellas seem pretty darn squared away guys and pure enthusiasts.  I hope to get to meet them and do some shooting with them maybe on the Big Isle.  Isaiah is gonna ship out to join the Navy in an attempt to become a super ninja so good luck to him!  I am looking forward to possibly checking out this range someday and my parents live in Mt. View and are shooters also, so they are interested.  Great job over there!

I could have done it at 65, but now, at 8 --almost 9 --years later, I think my cane would get in the way. <snif>

One of my sons said there was a guy at an indoor IDPA-like match at his range who did it in a wheelchair.

He didn't win.  He had the lowest score.

But he didn't lose, either!

Frankly, handling a cane as well as a firearm would be stretching the limits of safety.

As Inspector Harry Callahan, SFPD, once said, "A man's got to know his limitations."
