This is Louisiana right?
#1 a BB gun is not a toy.
I've killed many things with one.
I've also killed with slingshots, knives,
Bows and arrows,
and hunks of wood.
I've never killed with my bare fists and feet, but in my
youth, I probably could have.
This Louisiana school administration is an example of
where you should chain up all exits, and set fire to the building.
You then shoot anybody that escapes.
They are too Dogmatic to waste anymore air, food,
water, and energy on.
Just suggesting.
I of course would never violate any Constitutional Federal, state, or local laws.
If the SCHOOL wants to include BB guns, water guns and Pop-Tarts "kinda shaped sorta like a gun" in their definition of "gun", that's their right.
But, to extend their jurisdiction of "school property" to a child's room under his parent's roof demonstrates how the schools see students as "their children," not yours or mine.
Imagine -- a school doesn't allow knives, guns of any type, and cell phones in their classrooms. Based on this story, it's believable that a school could have the local sheriff search the student's entire house for such "contraband". After all, if the school can claim a child's room is 'school property", there would be nothing to stop them from claiming any and all properties in which their students reside are also under their control.
It's one thing to report a student who makes threats against the school or other students (or themselves). It's another to report them for having LEGAL non-firearm BB guns in their parent's home under their parent's supervision.
Schools want to believe they have replaced parents and guardians. If you disagree, they will report you to the authorities and have them invade your home to inspect it out of "safety concerns".
I'm sure this is the way things are run in many places, now that the schools have had to figure out online classes due to lockdowns. Time to sever ties with the public indoctrination system and create a network of parents and education professionals. Remote home schooling is the wave of the future. I think the public teachers unions are getting nervous. What school district one lives in is now 100% irrelevant.
While parents are home, there's no need to rely on schools to babysit during work hours. When the lockdowns end, parents might decide that one of them staying home has more value than working a job that only pays taxes, transportation to work, with a little left over. That little bit may not be as critical to their lives as getting their kids off the public propaganda plantation.
