Surfing in vog sucks, but I missed the last eruption and have not seen lava in years. Phenomenal photos coming from usgs. Already a lava lake. And it has not been 6 hours yet
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

We got to see the lava flows back in 2009. Where we were living at the time the vog was not bad. It was actually worse on the 4th of July and New Years due to all the fireworks. I feel bad for my brother down there in Ocean View when the Kona winds blow. It goes right over his house.

I got to see the last eruption.  Truly an amazing sight, especially at night from the observation center.

I was actually staying at KMC the weekend of the large earthquake that shut down the camp for months.  That was a pretty strong quake.  Strongest I've felt in Hawaii by far.

We had a vogset yesterday evening in Kona, and noticeable vog on the horizon today.

Hope it does not get worse.  The 2018 crap really sucked, and was corrosive as hell on my tools.

I too,  hope it stays calm, but living on the lower slopes of the highest mountain in the world
I suspect Halemaumau isn't going to stop anytime soon, it has a few thousands of feet to
grow.
As for tools, the Hamakua coast air even without the Vog, plays hell on all my tools.
