Do these numbers just represent a snapshot in time? If so I am not sure how reliable that is because so many countries could be said to be doing terrible or doing great depending on the window picked.

When I checked the overall numbers the US has a case rate of 88,000 per million people while Israel had 84,000 per million. Pretty close however our death rate  is over twice that of the Israelis. 1,500 vs 600 per million.

Not sure how weather would factor into this but vaccine and herd immunity would make intuitive sense. There is a doctor on youtube who does a pretty good job of breaking things down and he also stated that  vaccine and herd immunity were to explain for at least part of the decrease in numbers. He didn't go deep into any numbers but I take him at his word because of the nature of many videos I have seen him make.

Still there are so many factors. Changes in rules, changes in whether people are following the rules, changes in testing rates, etc etc etc. I understand how it would be a bit of a jump to make any hard claim, I think a much more scientific way of putting it would be that vaccine and herd immunity appear to explain part of the reduction in numbers.
