I would consider indoor ranges but there are not many to choose from.  The Kakaako one only has 4 lanes.

And yes, I understand there is considerable expense and maintenance in running an indoor range.  Wish there were more of them out there because competition is good for consumers.  Keeps everyone honest.

I agree with you.  Ranges on the mainland usually had 20+ lanes, but cost of land/rent is much different there.  I wasn't commenting on the expense to justify the prices, but that the expectation that it would be free to shoot there.  I don't know of any ranges other than Koko Head that are free to show up and shoot.  Well, other than owning your own land or access to land where folks don't mind/bother.  Used to have places like that to go shoot in WA.

I was in a Wisconsin maybe 8-9 years ago and a smart entrepreneurial fellow converted a bankrupt Bowling Alley into an indoor archery range with rubber deer where the pins used to stand, brilliant idea in a State too damn cold to go outside to practice 8 months out of the year. Still had a liquor license and a snack bar. Better than the whole Indoor Axe Throwing thing happening now.

808GC allows u to ccw/holster without having to take a $100 class that X-Ring makes you do.  At X, you must qualify first by taking said class.

Both have similar prices for use and ammo.

Cost of lead rated filters are about $35K a month. Then add in all the additional cost.  I only go to 808GC when needing to practice CCW b4 a trip that I'm going to CCW for.  And usually only shoot 1 box of 9mm.  Dry firing helps, but you need the bang to practice also.

There should be a few bowling alleys that recently closed.  That said, I know rent for those properties are redonkulous (from extended family experience in the bowling industry).  Bowling has long been a dying business in Hawaii.  However, that would be an excellent use of layout of an existing building.

I still can't believe they have those axe throwing venues with alcohol.  I mean I think it can be super fun, but have seen so many videos of the axe rebounding.   

Last time we used indoor in Vegas was at Green Valley Range. Rage fee $10 and 1 box of 9mm was $16.  This was precoivd and cost at indoors in HI were $26 for the same box.

You expect it to be free?  Do you know what it takes to build a range, pay rent on the land if not owned, get range cleaned/certified, keep ventilation maintained/certified? Apparently you don't.  Yet, you make convenient flat out lazy excuses. . .

Where have I said that?   I just mentioned why I personally don't go.  And what I think of it.    There are many other things that are perfectly fine for its niche crowd that I don't partake in but don't expect anything.   I think it's a waste of money but for some other people who have less issues with money it's convenient.  Most hobbies are this.

I hope they repair water before this weekend. Its a 24 inch main, half the size of the one that got damaged under Moanalua Freeway. That took weeks. I understand because it was not easily accessed.

The Moanalua one was HDD (horizontal directional drilling).  That one was a bear.  I know someone on the crew that did the investigation.  Access was super tough. 

As a side note, one of my projects busted a HDD line recently.  The driller drilled through a steel casing.  :facepalm:
