200 yard silhouette shooting
« on: October 19, 2021, 08:57:32 PM »
There's an opportunity to do 50-200 yard silhouette shooting at Koko Head. Who knows the guys who run the show? Carl on the Silhouette side and Mike overall, right? Anyone tight with the HMSSA guys? They'd be the perfect "sponsor" for this.

Posting this because I recently got to shoot out to 200 yards during the last Big Bore match (3rd Sundays) and it was so much fun. I expect one stipulation Mike and Carl would make is for someone to act as RO on that far end of the Silhouette range, since it's otherwise out of sight.

Are there any events on the Big Bore side on 1st and 2nd Sundays? I don't believe so, but who knows. I'd chip in for plates and hangers. Set 'em up before 8am and refresh paint during the occasional cease fire.

Where else can one shoot 200 yards on Oahu?

I follow all rules and regulations as posted and do not shoot at anything I'm not allowed to.  :geekdanc: :geekdanc: :geekdanc:

There's 1K plus on every island but like everything in the state, It's who you know.

I don't venture to the silhouette side since they act like totalitarian, rabid, brass vultures. #LeaveMybrassAlone #PakeBrassLyfe

Very little wind at the range today. Got pretty hot but I'll take that trade.

I have to start taking a tape measure out there.

That's probably 6BR, 7TCU and the like.

Gray splash is all the 22 does. Enough to see impact in my scope.

The Sunday of the 1st full weekend of each month is the .22 Silhouette Match. That's the shoot I normally attend. $5 cover match fees, all day range use, and lunch.
