A while back I created a channel on the Signal app just in case a forum outage occurred. And during the recent outage those of us who had joined were able to stay in touch with the other members. I encourage anyone who is interested in staying in touch with current members in case of another outage to please join our group on Signal.

All you have to do is create an account via the web or through an app that is free to download on your smart phone. You do need to have a smart phone in order to create an account. After you create an account just search for our group 2A Hawaii and ask to join. If you cannot find our group PM me with your username and phone number used to create the account and I will invite you to join.

I could not search for the group name. I am not sure it works like that in Signal. Could be you need to directly invite and add people. On Telegram you can search but I think Signal keeps even fewer details about you than Telegram, if pressed to provide the data.

Yeah, I agree. We have been living in a free state for almost 2 years now and we had several trips planned to go visit family in SoCal and each time right be fore we were ready to leave CA would start up with the mask mandates. I cancelled 3 trips before we finally made it out there last Thanksgiving. There was no way I was going to go there with a mask mandate. And even at that LA County went back to a mask mandate right before our trip. Our hotel was located in LA County. So I called them up and told them I was coming from AZ and we don’t wear masks and I am not going to in their hotel. You know what they told me? They are not enforcing the mandate so if I didn’t want to wear one that is fine with them. When I got there it seemed like all the young people were wearing masks and all the old people like me were going around without masks. 🤦‍♂️ We are going again next month for a short trip.

On a side note one of our best friends came down with a nasty case of COVID. We saw her on a Friday afternoon and she started to feel bad on Saturday. That was 2 weeks ago. We missed getting it by a blonde short hair.
