As a professional athlete, wouldn't you think you would check the other country's laws and regs to make sure you comply?  I'm not a professional athlete or professional anything but I would.....shouldn't take that long, either.

And I thought their agents were supposed to have their back, looking out for their safety and welfare.

They get paid well enough. ::)

And by the way, how come she sounds like a man? ???

Here's the video.  She says she made an honest mistake 31 seconds into the video.

And biden was gonna trade a Russian Terrorist Arms Dealer for her and another American.  Wow!!

I could buy honest mistake.  However, would the media have made anything about this if she wasn't a pro athlete?

However, use of "platform" to make statements, no matter pro athlete, celebrity, or not, you reap what you sow. 

Couldn't care less about what happens to her.  I do care about what US would have to sacrifice to get her back.

She gets tested for pakalolo routinely and never popped.  Anyone traveling out of country is responisbleon their own to know that countries laws. And the fact that she plays in Russia, she should be well aware. DOuble, triple check.

I just hope we dont get trade raped.

There's an American teacher that's in prison in Russia as well,  who isn't getting any media coverage. 

Probably offers more to the country in a trade than a pro athlete

I hate to harp on Griner…
But you don’t take drugs on any flight, much less international, much less into Russia, China or Thailand.
If it’s legal when you get there, pick up some more when you get there.
She probably could’ve passed repackaged edibles though.

9 years for less than a gram is harsh.
Here less than 2 pounds is a misdemeanor. (Or used to be) probation and on your merry way with limited employment options.
