"After Confucius Institutes"
China’s Enduring Influence on American Higher Education

Executive Summary

In the last four years, Confucius Institutes have rapidly closed down across the United States. Amid pressure from the FBI, the Department of State, Congress, and state legislatures, colleges and universities have terminated their agreements for these Chinese language and culture centers sponsored by the Chinese government. Of 118 Confucius Institutes that once existed in the United States, 104 have closed or are in the process of doing so.

The demise of Confucius Institutes (CIs), one of China’s most strategic beachheads in American higher education, has not deterred the Chinese government from seeking alternative means of influencing American colleges and universities. It has used an all-of-the-above approach to protecting its spheres of influence on American higher education, ranging from full-throated defenses of Confucius Institutes to threats. Among its most successful tactics, however, has been the effort to rebrand Confucius Institute-like programs under other names.

Yes but not because of the CCP.
Our problem is locally grown and nurtured by us,
in ignorance.
The Chinese, Russians, Europeans, et al have contributed,
but our real problem is us.  We as a nation have failed because
we are too weak too deal with hard problems.
So the USA will now pay a very harsh price, for their weaknesses.
Some things really are "black and white" and "facts"  based
on your feelings don't really matter.
I have several  solutions
One is violence, probably not very practical.
Another is passive agression eg quit complying, quit producing, quit paying, quit working to
your most productive, so that the government goes broke. Not very practical as most people
want the benefits of the "rich",  for the time being, lives they live.

I can think of no constructive way to deal with our internal enemies at this point in time, with the society
we have at this moment.
To the best of my ability, I will just quit playing.  I can afford to.
   World reset.

People used to get visibly uncomfortable when I mentioned communism. Not so much any more. The plans are wide out in the open.

In order for Communism, Socialism or any other "ism" to take the place of our systems, the existing systems must be destroyed, dismantled and swept away.

This is accomplished through societal upheaval (such as the CHAZ and other criminal zones allowed to exist by the governments), demonizing our police forces so laws are no longer enforced, tearing down monuments and other reminders of important events in our history, and even renaming of schools, sports teams, pancake syrups, and anything else that has any historical or societal significance.

Removing the name of a president or statesman from a school requires replacing it with another name.  What names do they choose?  They want recent "heroes" of the Liberal movement enshrined, like LGBTQXYZ activists, etc.  Some are simply getting their agenda started by deleting names with no idea what names should be used as replacements -- as long as they can erase the names of the founders, they are satisfied.

San Francisco's school board DELETED 44 names of schools (1/3 of the schools in the city) without having any clue what names would be assigned going forward.  I guess a numerical system would suffice as long as they get their cultural agenda pushed through.

Each time someone is "offended" by a statue, building name or product brand name, they are attempting to erase or rewrite history.  We honor the people who contribute the most to our country, state and local communities by naming things after them such as parks and schools.  Imagine if someone decided Sally Ride should not have a school bearing her name because they found she didn't support Gay Marriage?  Or if the Navy decided ships named after Presidents were too partisan and should all be unbranded, called out only by their designation and number?

I guess in a future Socialist US, "The Enterprise" would no longer be allowed for real world and fictional vessels.

It's all part of the same agenda to tear down the US and rebuild it in some academicians' vision of utopia.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Same goes for folklore. Traditional heroes, even in fiction. Superman. Luke Skywalker. James Bond. Captain America (oh, what a name).
