Okay, now it is after the election. The rumors of Obama banning guns is all over the Internet. Gun stores are out of certain items due to fear.

What do you think is going to be hard to find for the next 6 months to a year? How about longer than a year?

Right now I know there is a run on "Black" type rifles. AR and AK lowers. Extended capacity magazines (20 and 30 round). While ordering parts for my AR I found that certain Magpul buttstocks are tough to fnd. Also, buffer assemblies are hard to get. If lowers are hard to get I would assume that lower complete parts kits will get tough to find. And ammo of mostly nato sizes. I am surprised we are not hearing more about a run on pistols.

Reloading components could be hard to get shortly. Anything else you can think of?

Like you said, I think ARs and AKs and components will be tougher to find and more expensive and common centerfire calibers like 5.56/.223, .308, 9 mm and 45 ACP.  Mostly because people are buying it up, whether it be stocking up or panic buying.  Hopefully things will settle down some in about 6 months. 

There was a run on similar things this past March and things settled down again by late summer.  While things are different now with the election decided, I am still hopeful that things will settle down.  Of course it may skyrocket back up again if legislation gets going and seems to be making it's way through Congress, but until then we can only wait and see. 

I have a decent stock of the calibers that I shoot regularly and I am going to try to wait for sales here and there to replenish as I shoot.
