Jugging
« on: March 20, 2023, 01:20:58 PM »
appears to be a new criminal trend of following people from the bank and waiting for an opportunity to rob them.
Our local leaders have no problem with firearms protecting cash but do have a problem having firearms protect lives. ???

just saturday i went to the ATM in kaimuki and had one shady guy just hanging out at the ATM
I should have left and went to different ATM but I was in a rush
the guy was just staring me in the eye and I was staring at him
I said, "how's it going?" in a stern voice with my hand in my pocket as I gripped my keychain can of Mace
he said , "you can go ahead"  and then he left and walked down the street

bank and ATM is prime places for people to rob us.  gas stations and 7-11 too

Some say the term “jugging” came about decades ago when people would transport money in jugs.

The recent "trend" might be new, but the crime is very old.

Thieves have targeted the elderly and stolen their Social Security checks that came in their mail or as they walked to the neighborhood bank to deposit it.

They also target people using ATMs for withdrawals and night deposit boxes for businesses making drops after closing.

With the advent of direct deposit, online shopping and debit/credit card popularity, it's become difficult to randomly find a robbery victim with a decent amount of cash on them.  Staking out banks for potential victims is one way to solve that.

I think this story was posted just to piggy-back on the bank failure stories as people imagine a run on banks with customers withdrawing their funds in cash.

Doesn't seem like our political leaders care about guns falling into the hands of the criminal element.

Yet they try to enact laws that prohibit the carry of guns into "sensitive" places which is 99.99% just about everywhere.

Which forces law abiding CCW holders to secure the gun in their cars.

Which increases the probability of criminals getting a hold of guns through car theft.

The Liberal mindset is that robbery, mugging, burglary -- all the crimes that are mostly property crimes -- are okay.

As victims, we are not allowed to "punish" them to protect out property or our own safety.

They seriously would prefer criminals go on being criminals than have their "right" to be judged by the justice system rather than be "violated" by the victims -- aka vigilantes.

The proper punishment for theft is not death.  Allowing people to carry guns violates the criminals' right to due process.
