Some info on the hearing.
Parking:
Under the HPD building, but limited. Beware that it is metered, so you will have to watch your time.
Street parking in front of HPD, very limited. I wouldn't even count on it. This too is metered.
Fasi municipal lot across the street, metered.
Restrooms:
Inside HPD building and you MUST GO THRU METAL DETECTOR. So be aware of this.
Food:
There is a snack shop that has very limited food items. They also have snacks like chips and drinks.
Across the street is Bo's Kitchen (Chinese food). Their wonton and rice noodle combo is very good.
Random:
This is a C&C building, so it's subject to the sensitive place law, so no legal CCW is allowed. Even though this is a "places to keep". The 2 laws conflict with each other.
See above metal detector for restrooms.
Being nice goes a long way. Because there will be anti 2a people there and last hearing, the lady who's daughter committed suicide was yelling to ban 10rd mags. Guess her daughter shot herself with 11+rds? She never tells the lawmakers this, but just that her daughter died from gun violence or something like.
This is about the chiefs rules only and not trying to change state law. So try to keep on topic as it may affect your credibility if you go off on trying to change state law. The rules reference when it's in the rules due to state law.
Unsure items:
Last hearing, they had a line outside and let in about 10 testifiers at a time.
Last hearing they had a TV set up outside so you can watch what was going on inside. Later on YouTube.
Last hearing Chief Logan was outside to mingle prior to the hearing. Not sure how long he stayed. He did approach me and say my name to shake my hand. This was odd, as I don't know him or am not the face of HIFICO like Andrew.
The testifying was faster than waiting in line for the permit to acquire (5hrs). But some chose to stay to mingle.
