If Israel is engaged in genocide, why are there still Palestinians living in Gaza?
Let's first see if any internationally recognized acts of genocide have been committed by Israel in Gaza. According to the UN's Article II of the Genocide Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as in the group in-question, the Palestinians living in Gaza:
(a) Killing members of the group (
Israel is killing members of a group, approximately over 30,000 Palestinian men, women, and children have been slaughtered since October 7, 2023);
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group (
Evidence has surface of Israeli soldiers photographing, recording video, and posting the bodily and mental harm they have been subjecting to captured Palestinians whether Hamas or not);
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part (
Israel's shelling and bombing of Gaza has resulted in the immense destruction of Gaza City causing Palestinians to become refugees in their own city);
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; and/or
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
Based on the criteria set forth in the Genocide Convention, there is evidence to suggest genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza is occurring as at least three of the five criteria of genocide have been observed.
Now, to answer your question, which is not a criterion of genocide; the reason there are Palestinians still living in Gaza is because Gaza is their home and the Palestinians have nowhere else realistically to go.
Why are there many Arabs living and working peacefully in Israel?
Arabs living and working in Israel has nothing to do about genocide.
