In the past, you have heard me say what good service we personally have received from the officers at the HPD firearms window.
Today, I'd like to change my position.

Last Friday we went in to pick up our joint hand gun permit to acquire form and there were only six in line in front of us.
After receiving our permits in less than 30 minutes after arriving (that's less than 5 minutes per person wait time ), we left but there were now over a dozen in line.
We went about our business until almost 3 hrs and miles later, I realized I left my brand new large Hydro-flask ($38.00) on the finger print counter at HPD.
On a chance, I called HPD and asked if they found a yellow ( Wifey Rockette whispers to me, " it's not yellow, it's lime green"

) Hydro-flask in the waiting area.
The answering officer said wait a minute, came back to the phone and informed me "It's not yellow, it's lime green" (Uuuugh

) and said they would hold it for me till we came in Monday.
Monday morning it's back to HPD to joint register.
Six in line ahead of us but we were again in the room in less than 30 minutes.

I got up to the window and jokingly said I wanted to report a missing
"Lime Green'' Hydro-flask and sure enough, it was waiting for me !

Again we received prompt, courteous and professional service, this time with a touch of humor.

These guys are AWESOME !

Congratulations on making Wifey's coveted 2015 Limited Christmas Cookie List !
Special thanks to Officer Prado, Officer Kyle and Officer Lyle who have made this last year's worth of questionable but legally required visits not only less painful, but actually a pleasant experience.

On a side note:
This relatively expensive water bottle sat in the firearms waiting area line for almost 3 hours with what was obviously dozens of honest, moral and ethical firearms folks just passing it by.

Merry Christmas and a Safe Holiday Season to All !
