When I think of OTF knives, 1st that comes to mind is Microtech Ultratech which run about $300+. But the Kershaw is getting reviews comparable and some think it's better than the Ultratech, and the Livewire is about 80 cheaper. Kershaw seems to have smoother operation, its lighter, blade is magnacut steel, seems to be a great OTF knife. It's already on it's way.

I'll probably try the $30 one first and see how often it gets used.
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

One thing to watch with OTF is the lockup and stability when the blade is "deployed".  I mean the blade still functional, but those that have a lot of wobble is  :grrr:

Due to HI's BS CCW law about it, mine would only be used as a range knife.  My shirt is always tucked in at the range because you don't want it getting lodged into the pistol holster.

I received the Kershaw Livewire a few days ago and been carrying it since then
My one gripe is the pocket clip. Works fine with thinner pockets but with jeans or thick pockets it's a challenge to clip it to the pocket bc needs to have more room under the clip to work better with thicker pockets
Otherwise it works great. I like it
It does have slight blade play when it's open but I guess that's how OTF knives work, so no big deal

Getting into these OTF knives,  I ordered this too

More of a budget OTF. AUS8 steel. Gets good reviews
Should have it soon  :geekdanc:

Got a cheap one for work. Hasn't failed to open yet, but i"m not trying to open in into solid objects since that seems like exactly the kind of thing that would break it. I have a leatherman backup just in case but so far so good.

It actually makes a whole lot of sense especially when climbing.

Had a few failures already with the cheap OTF, but discovered that it's perfect for moto carry when I'm wearing riding gloves. Looking for a medium priced one with a glass breaker on the back.
