Prep now for crappy weather.
The usual stuff.
Food, water, batteries, gas, ...

Tie your loose stuff down.

On an island where even just one stalled vehicle in the wrong lane during rush hour would cause a mess, just imagine what a storm would do to disrupt the lives of the people who live on Oahu.

Or maybe don't, since it's very real, and possible this weekend.

I've posted it before but I can't help remembering the big braddah fighting off the 98 lb old Asian Lady during a Walmart spam case sale.  A tug of war over the last remaining cases of spam.

Funny how a natural disaster or similar would affect human behavior.

It's a nothing burger here on Oahu and at most a regular cheeseburger on the Big Island.

We lost power for almost exactly 24 hours.  My Tesla Powerwalls went down to 39% showing 20 hours left.  It didn't get much of a recharge today due to heavy cloud cover and it rained non stop from 8PM last night.

I went to the range but it was very gusty.

Seems like it's all clear as far as Hone.

Yesterday in Mililani we had a power outage.

It lasted less than 10 seconds.  Power went out.  After I said "Oh!" and headed for the flashlights the power came back on.

I wasn't home most of the time, but the dawg reported that it was a little windy.

Re. Extra Batteries story....
I got a bunch of AA energizer batteries for free. (Good stuff)
A few days ago I was at Longs drugs behind a little old lady who had just purchased a little clock. She asked the cashier if it needed batteries.  The cashier said it needed AA batteries so he fetched an 8 pack of batteries for her. She asked if he could put the battery in for her. So to speed things up, I volunteered to help her out. It only took about a minute or two to install the battery and set it to the correct time. She thanked me for the help and gifted me the rest of the batteries. I tried to refuse the batteries but she insisted and walked away.

Maybe the little old lady knew she only needed one set of batteries as her clock was going to stop soon?
