On a recent episode of 'The View', co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg
sparked a heated discussion about Thanksgiving dinner and whether it’s worth
attending if your family voted for Donald Trump.

Recently, Yale University chief psychiatry resident Dr Amanda Calhoun spoke to
MSNBC host Joy Reid about how people who voted for Harris could cope with
the election outcome.

She said, "If you are going to a situation where you have family members, where
you have close friends who you know have voted in ways that are against you,
like what you said, against your livelihood, it’s completely fine to not be around
those people and to tell them why, you know, to say, ‘I have a problem with the
way that you voted, because it went against my very livelihood and I’m not going
to be around you this holiday'."

 'The View' co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg agreed that supporters
of Harris might want to reconsider spending the holiday with family members
who support Trump.

Later that night, I briefly glanced at my husband and found myself not
wanting to look into the eyes I love. I hated this divide. I wanted to touch
his forearms and feel our connection, but I also felt an urge to punish him
and deny him my touch.

“I am sorry about the holidays, but I cannot bite my tongue like I did with Hillary,”
I told him. “I don’t want to disrespect your parents or your brother and his family
in their home, or our home, so it’s best this way. No scenes. You can go see
them. Seriously — I will not be in a room of 15 people who voted for Trump.”
