Is anyone shooting this cartridge? And if you’re using it to hunt, what bullets do you prefer? Thanks.

What twist you have? What barrel length? What animals you intend to hunt?

Most using 75 gr to 88 gr weights eldms and Berger mostly some using 77 gr sierras.

If you’re running 7 twist and longer barrel lengths some have experienced the lighter bullets coming apart due to high bullet RPM. Bergers seem to have held up better with this issue.

I went 22 XC because l have 6 XC’s so that was the easy button for me. Just change out bushings neck down using same die etc. Doing 25’s as well 25-284 and 25 SAUM with the heavy bullets available now.

Thanks for the reply.
18” 7.5twist rate. Gonna shoot axis, goats, and pigs with it. Loading the 80.5 bergers, and 75eldms and doing a quick load development with staball and h4350 to find a good node for them. Hopefully they work as expected.

I’ve got 8 twist with 20” barrels the 80.5 Berger is what I’m leaning towards as well. I’ve got a bunch of different bullets to try. But a buddy who shoots a lot of hot rod cf 22’s tells me the 80.5 is the one to run if it shoots in my gun.

That’s what I’ll be trying in my daughters 22 XC

Good luck. Hopefully your daughter gets some nice animals with it.
