Manuka Range

I stopped by Manuka Range on the Big Island. It's located in the State forest reserve near South Point, about an hour south of Kona. It's also a year round hunting area for pigs, goats, and sheep. It's not a sanctioned range and no RSOs, just a place where locals shoot. You need a 4wd vehicle to make it up the driveway, or else park outside on the side of the road.
There's 2 "ranges". A 200+yd range at the top and a smaller one lower down. It's a clearing in the forest with appliances and junk people left behind to shoot at. As there's no RSOs, safety compliance is up to the shooters and can vary.

Requires a 4wd to make it up the driveway, or else park outside on the road.  Southbound you take a left turn into the driveway.  Northbound it's a right turn.

The main range at the top goes out to 200 yards or so

a 2nd smaller range midway up

Thanks for sharing, it's cool to see freedom still exists outside of Oahu.  We get treated like toddlers at Kokohead
