This was funny.  Mamdani had a media event for his new government sponsored supermarkets that sells things for 30% off.  Of course people are going to hoard and resell it as there's no verification or checking.  One of his aides mistakenly says an ID will be required to purchase things from the store, like a library card.  Then Mamdani goes into damage control and says no ID is required.  They don't want to connect it to Trumps voter identification push.
