she'll get a better education at home anyway.    she won't learn the crap they teach now

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

We're becoming a nation of politically correct wussies. This is the end result of decades of leftist propaganda and liberal guilt tripping.

Mark my words: they'll try to introduce a special tax for gun owners under the guise protecting the children and non-gun owners from the potential harmful effects of guns à la cigarettes.

The child's obviously a terrorist.  Should be locked up incommunicado.  As President Clinton once said,

Quote
"When we got organized as a country, we wrote a fairly radical
Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical
amount of individual freedom to Americans ... There's too much
personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have
to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I
made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're
going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to
make people safer in their communities.
         Bill Clinton
         on MTV's "Enough is Enough"
         March 22, 1994

I think the scolding and suspension did not go far enough.

She should have been spanked to show her that freedom is supposed to be limited, and her Grandfather punished under the laws about providing guns to a minor.  A gun is a gun, after all, paper or not:

After all, you can make a gun on a computer printer nowadays, too.

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

I think that the school administration should be fired and fined because they used the word "handgun" in the same sentance as "school", a clear violation of policy.  The child that ratted her out should be tried for a felony by openly saying "gun" while in school and for escallating the situation to the point where the young girl had no choice but to defend herself with her imaginary weapon.  WTF is wrong with those people...

But can  you do that outside of 1000 feet from the school?

Yes, but if someone has a paper cut out that looks like the school (ie: a rectangular piece of paper) anywhere near where the statement is made, then by the administrator's logic, it is still near the school.  Hence still a crime.

The only thing the courts need to rule on is if a child brings a pretend paper gun to a pretend paper school, is that still a crime?  Obama better just make a executive order so that we can all feel safe again.
