WOW! The 90's was fun.........

Nothing new, from Fashion to Music has made it over......the 90's were the last of it....

EVERYTHING is refashioned and remixed........

sorry if I'm sending the wrong message by saying the 90's were fun......but it was ;D

The 90s were the end of it.  Everything switched from hanging out at castle park and racing down kakaako to everyone wanting to be a gangster. No more cruise spots now.

Bruddah ren, was that a scan of an original Castle Park pamphlet?!?

Awesome!!

Since this thread is already derailed, I'll add further derailment...

Anyone else remember cruising Waiks, up and down Kuhio?

What a colossal F'in waste of time and gas..... though my friend always seemed to hook up with chicks at the zoo as a result.  :grrr:

No, I did a Google search. I grew up in the 80s and remember our annual trip to Castle Park as part of our JPO program.
I was one of those naive idiots that cruised up & down Kuhio with no purpose, blasting my latest car audio addition; that lasted my jr. and senior years in HS then I think it died as a stupid fad. I remember the line stretched from Kuhio to the present Convention Center.

Was kalakaua ave really a 2 way road?

And any of you still got your old car audio equipment?
I recently scored a Rockford Fosgate  punch 150 amp. Heard it was the shits back in the day.

I still have a Precision Power 4100AM amp from 1992. Some electrolytic caps were leaking so I replaced all of them.  It is still being used today along with an AudioControl EQX. The height of the car audio bug hit me when I had Image Dynamics horns under the dash of a 1989 TBird.
Not too many car audio amps are made in respectable places of manufacture.  PPI was made in Arizona as well as Rockford (Tempe?). Mostly everything is now made overseas. Remember Nakamichi? ADS? On another note what happened Island Sound?

Island Sound still around.  By appointment only. My friends started it during high school.  Earl the head installer owns it now. Hank is at Audio Visual Co.

80's Brian was the toy boy of the gang. I had a yellow 64 VW Bug with Pioneer house speakers in the back seat.  I remember most guys had 8 tracks!

You could cruize down Hotel st and throw eggs at the mahus. LOL

since we are on car audio, this was the icon of high end car audio in the day, though the real credit goes to Speaker Works of California. I remember going to a clinic when large capacitors were the fad.

Magnum Motorsports.   Art was my competitor. I owned Eurosport.   Brian worked for me then Art took him away with $$

Then when I sold and went into computer repair. i worked for Art fixing his computers.  I knew Art since the Thunder Bug days selling out of his house.  Same attitude back then.
