Anyway it looks great! 357 probably shoots 38 Special also, and then you get the 9mm with no clips! (And yes, finally, we can use CLIPS correctly :-D

I recently found a ruger speed six in 9mm from a private owner in prescott,az. I got for $650, $750 after shipping & FFL fees.check out gunbroker. The s&w 547 and ruger speed six are going for over $1000. It's getting crazy. Mine is SS w/ a 2.75" barrel. I got full moon clips for it. Full moon clips are faster to reload than speed loaders and mags. I never shot it yet.when do you go to the range, i might be there w/ it and you can check it out.

Side question: How do you guys go about buying on the mainland? From what I understood, few if any brokers/dealers on the mainland want to bother with all the paperwork shipping to HI, and then the LGS here to do not want to do the FFL transfers because they feel it is a pain in the ass and not worth it since they don't sell to you at their prices? This is what I understood from reading posts, but never actually asked any LGS about transfers.

That's not the impression I have.  Sellers, whether local or mainland, are in business to make a profit.  They pass on any additional shipping & handling costs to Hawaii residents.  FFLs in Hawaii are more than eager to perform this service for local customers.

I've purchased 3 long guns on Gunbroker.com (2 sellers), and one on BudsGunShop.com.  There has never been any attitude on either side of the transaction from the FFL holders other than one of exceptional service and professionalism.

I can name one local FFL (no I'm not going to say who) who does not like to do FFL transfers and can/has jacked up the price of transfers which is why I no longer use him.  Unfortunately that person never figured out that they can make some serious $$$ by doing just FFL transfers.  Sad the same business as usually business model in Hawaii.

Procedure:
Buy the firearm.

Send payment.

Find out preferred method of them receiving copy of the FFL. (Most will accept fax or email, some want it mailed)

Contact FFL of choice, let them know what you bought and the fax number, email address or postal address to send a signed copy of their FFL.

The Store/person will send the firearm to the FFL.

The FFL then registers the firearm into their inventory.

You go to pick up the firearm exactly the same as I you had bought it from the store. (Long guns still require a PTA, pistols require a 2 week wait)

You pay the transfer fee, then you go home and start showing off your new toy.
